Auto accidents can cause serious damage to the spine and structures relating to the spine. An example of this is a herniated disc. A disc separates the bones and acts as a cushion. When too much pressure is applied to the disc it can rupture or herniate. After a motor vehicle accident in 2002, Brenda had radiating pain down her right leg. An MRI showed a large herniated disc that was displacing a nerve and compressing the spinal cord. She was told by two doctors that surgery must be performed. After a long course of treatment lasting nine months, Brenda is feeling much better and surgery is no longer needed. I appreciate the confidence Brenda had in me as it took a long time to correct this difficult condition. Special equipment was needed as you can see in the picture. This table gently stretches and separates the vertebra. |
